Air Conditioning System
Test engineers face special problems during the first stages of the development of a new supercharged engine. Either a matching turbocharger is not available in time or the charge air conditions have to be varied over a wide range, independent of the engine’s operating point, the ambient pressure or test cell temperature.
The variable boosting system STS ChargeCon solves these problems. It provides the required levels of combustion air pressure and temperature. It maintains these levels over a wide range within narrow limits. The control and regulation of the system is performed by an on-board controller mounted in the control cabinet.
